Mayor Joseph ‘Erap’ Estrada led the partnership with the Manila Police District (MPD) National Capital Region (NCR) in a drug buy-bust operation last February 9 in Binondo, Manila wherein seven individuals were arrested including the alleged big-time pusher.

During the said operation, they were also able to seize three kilos of shabu, an estimated PhP15 million street value.

Mayor Erap angrily confronted the suspects and strongly warned drug pushers, dealers and traffickers not to use Manila in their illegal deeds.

The operation was conducted around 4:45PM on Tuesday which led to the arrest of primary suspect Karen Mae Tan, 37, owner of Epitome Flower shop in Pacific Center, Room 809-B, Quintin Paredes Street.

Bernadette Tagle, 43; Aina Marquez, 28; Arman Okba, 41 and three others were among those arrested in the operation as well.

Participating in the said buy-bust operation included NCR Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (NCR-CIDG) led by Police Sr/Supt. Ronald Lee and a group from Regional Investigation Division of NCR Police Office (RID-NCRPO).

Estrada praised the police fora successful operation against illegal drugs.
