Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada gave away boats to areas in Manila that are often being flooded.
In a ceremony at the Manila City Hall earlier today, more than one hundred boats were given away by Estrada to the barangay chairmen from flood-prone areas like Sampaloc, Sta. Mesa, Sta. Cruz and Binondo.
Coinciding with the said event is the official start of the rainy season in the country.
The former president also donated 15 new mobile cars that will be used by the Manila Police District when they respond to crimes.
Meanwhile, the construction of the Filipino-Chinese Friendship arc in Chinatown, Binondo is finished. Traffic will now be lessen since the road has been re-opened for motorists.
