DZRH, the flagship AM station of the Manila Broadcasting Company, went home with some of the major awards in this year’s KBP Golden Dove Awards, held at The Marriot Hotel at Resorts World, Pasay City.
Veteran anchor Deo Macalma took home the Best Radio Public Affairs Program Host. Macalma who was recently appointed as DZRH’s station manager is the host of “Isyu” and “Breaktime.” His wit and candor, together with his “bubwit” are what the listeners look forward to every day in his programs.
Senior reporter Henry Uri bagged the Best Radio Newscaster award. One of the veteran reporters of DZRH, Uri hosts the morning shows’ “Magandang Umaga Pilipinas”, “DZRH Balita” and “ACS Balita” with fellow KBP Golden Dove award winner Angelo Palmones.
Best Radio Science and Technology Journalist went to Palmones, with the Best Radio Science and Technology Program award for his show, “Radyo Henyo.”
DZRH also won the Best Radio Variety Program for “Radyo Balintataw”, Best Radio Culture and Arts for “Balintataw Obra ni Juan”, and Best Radio Public Service Program for “Katumbas ay Biyaya” hosted by Rey Sibayan and National Nutrition Council Chief Asec. Bernie Flores.
Meanwhile, DZRH’s sister stations, Love Radio Manila took home the Best FM station-Metro Manila and Radyo Natin with the Best FM station-provincial.
