Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte and United States President Donald Trump met during the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Meeting in Intercontinental Da Nang Resorts in Vietnam.
According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the meeting between the two Presidents was casual and and brief.
Duterte was overheard saying, “See you tomorrow,” to Trump.
The two country’s leaders are expected to have a bilateral meeting at the sidelines of the Association of South East Asian Nations Summit hosted by the Philippines.
Other than the relationship between the US and the Philippines, Duterte and Trump are also expected to discuss Chinese activity in the West Philippine Sea, especially after Trump publicly spoke about the importance of freedom of navigation.
