Duterte confirms: He asked Lavina to quit post

President Rodrigo Duterte confirmed that he asked Peter Lavina to resign as head of the National Irrigation Administration.

President Duterte said that it was difficult decision because Lavina is a longtime friend and colleague.

However, Duterte insisted that he does not tolerate corruption in his administration, even though these are just hearsays.

According to Cabinet Sec. Jun Evasco, he has yet to receive any corruption complaint against Lavina until the day he resigned from his post.

Lavina was the President’s spokesman during the 2016 national elections.
