DOTr to launch “Sumbong Bulok, Sumbong Usok” next week

Beginning next week the Department of Transportation (DOTr) will be launching its “Sumbong Bulok, Sumbong Usok” program.

According to DOTr’s Tim Orbos, on Monday, January 15, they will present the guideline and protocol on how the public could alert officials against road unworthy vehicles.

The program was initiated in a bid to allow public cooperation in the government’s stern modernization program.

Particularly, the DOTr is aiming to extract aged PUVs with hazardous smoke emissions, wrecked wheels, and lacking or broken spare parts.

Upon the implementation of the program, authorities have been able to flag down over 200 vehicles.

Meanwhile, DOTr Asec. Elvira Medina said that their agency is preparing to deploy new vehicles after commuters aired their concern on the lack of passenger jeepneys in the streets due to the agency’s “Kontra Bulok, Kontra Usok” campaign.
