Department of Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade was quick to react amid reports that he allegedly asked Usec. For Rails Cesar Chavez to resign.
According to Tugade, he was himself surprised with Chavez’ move to tender his irrevocable resignation. Tugade added that the two were together a few days ago, trying to plan out long term solutions for the MRT3.
Tugade clarified that he still has full confidence and trust in Chavez and that the latter’s resignation all took them by surprise.
Based on Chavez’ resignation letter sent to President Rodrigo Duterte, he is resigning from his post out of “delicadeza” and that he hopes that administration will be able to find someone who is qualified to take over the challenges in the said post, especially that of the problems being faced by the MRT3.
