The preliminary investigation by the Department of Justice (DOJ) against some members of Leyte police charged due to the death of Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa starts today (December 20, 2016).

Prior to this, the Five-man panel of the DOJ sent a subpoena to controversial CIDG-8 Chief Supt. Marvin Macros and 22 of his men.

Marcos and the alleged responsible in shooting Espinosa, C/supt. Leo Laraga are present sans the other accused during the hearing.

25 cops were charged by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) following the alleged murder of Mayor Espinosa and claimed it as rubout.
