The Department of Health is gearing up for a nationwide vaccination for the 12 million youth who could be victims of a Measles outbreak.
The Health Department declared a Measles outbreak in Metro Manila because of a massive increase in people turning positive with the said sickness.
Quiapo, Sampaloc, Tondo, Binondo, Sta. Cruz, Port Area and Sta. Mesa in Manila; Dagat-Dagatan and Bagong Barrio in Caloocan City; Talon 5 and Pamplona Uno in Las Pinas; and Longos and Tonsuya in Malabon are just some of the areas that registered the many Measles cases.
According to Dr. Eric Tayag, they will prioritize children in the National Capital Region, to be followed by those in the provinces.
There are now more than 1,724 cases of Measles registered in the country, 21 of which ended up dying.
