The Department of Health (DOH) clarified on Monday that there are still no confirmed cases of Filipinos infected with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in South Korea.
“No, we don’t have any Filipino yet positive for COVID-19. We have one in Singapore, we have two in UAE, and we have one in Hong Kong,” DOH Assistant Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said during a press conference in Malacañang.
Earlier, in an interview, Vergeire said there was initial information received by the DOH for the said infected Filipino, however, details on the identity are yet to know.
South Korea raised its virus alert to the highest level after the number of confirmed cases for COVID-19 reached over 600— the highest outside China, aside from the virus-hit Diamond Princess cruise ship docked in Japan.
