The Department of National Defense has been placed under lockdown on Wednesday, July 15 in order to give way to the disinfection of its main building and premises in Quezon City.
In an advisory, DND said the lockdown would take place at 12 noon on Wednesday and would resume its normal office operations on Friday, July 17.
This came after Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana revealed that one of his staff tested positive for COVID-19.
Lorenzana is now observing self-quarantine measures while he waits for the result of his swab test.
Meanwhile, the DND also conducted mandatory rapid testing for its employees last Monday. The agency said a total of 294 employees underwent rapid testing, in addition to 83 tests facilitated earlier this month.
