The Department of Interior and Local Government admitted on Thursday that there are barangay officials who are involved in selling shabu in Tacloban.

According to a DILG Information officer, the agency continues to remind barangay officials to be model citizens to their constituents and stop being involved in illegal activities.

The said officer added that what these barangay officials are doing is a criminal offense and once caught, they will be facing charges and removal from their posts.

The DILG has yet to reveal the names of the said officials but said that this should serve as a warning because it ruins the image of other barangay officials.
