2016 Olympics silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz dominated the women’s weightlifting 55 kilograms division of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games on Monday, Dec. 2, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium of the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Diaz lifted a total weight of 211 kilograms to claim her first SEA Games gold medal.
The Filipina weightlifting star topped the snatch portion after lifting 91 kilograms, and the clean and jerk portion by carrying 120 kilograms.
Nguyen Thi Thuy of Vietnam grabbed the silver medal after lifting a total weight of 197 kilograms, 82 kilograms in snatch and 115 kilograms in clean and jerk.
Julian Klarisa of Indonesia placed third by lifting a total of 175 kilograms, 80 kilograms in snatch and 95 kilograms in clean and jerk.
