De Lima stern warning vs violators of Prize freeze

Justice Secretary Leila De Lima warns those who will take advantage or violate the prize freeze that the government has imposed in the aftermath of typhoon Yolanda that they will be facing serious penalty.

According to De Lima, there are laws that are being implemented in times when the country is in a state of calamity.

Under the State of Calamity, the Department of Trade and industry implements prize freeze on basic necessities within 60 days, based on Sections 6 and 7 of Republic Act 7581.

De Lima added that whoever will violate the said probation will be charged and may be put behind bars between five to 15 years and a fine of two million pesos.
