Fans of the De La Salle Green Archers remain hopeful as the team gets to live for another day with a win on game 2 against the Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagles of the UAAP Senior Men’s Basketball best of three finals.
Most Valuable Player Ben Mbala contributed 20 points and 16 rebounds for the Archers, while Ricci Rivero scored 18 points even after getting into early foul trouble before the start of the second half.
The Eagles, meanwhile, was led by Thirdy Ravena who scored 20 points during his more than 26 minutes inside the court.
During the first half of the game, Ateneo dominated the court after grabbing a 21-point lead in the second quarter. However, the Green Archers recovered in the third quarter and took the lead with 62-58.
The victory of the Archers was seemingly secured after they widened the score gap to 13 points in the last three minutes of the game.
In line with this, a do-or-die game between the two rivals will happen in game 3, scheduled on Sunday, Dec. 3.
