COVID-19 cases in PHL surpass 36k mark

The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday, June 29, that the total number of 2019 Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) cases in the Philippines climbed up to 36,438 after the agency validated 985 additional infections.

DOH recorded 643 fresh cases or results released to the patients within the past three days, and 342 late cases or backlogs that the department validated only recently.

DOH also announced that 270 more patients recovered from COVID-19 which brought the total number of recoveries up to 9,956.

However, the Health Department confirmed that 11 COVID-19 positive patients succumbed to the respiratory illness, and that the total number of fatalities went up to 1,255.
