Over 2,600 policemen will be deployed to ensure safety and security in different cemeteries in Metro Manila on All Soul’s Day.
The National Capital Region Police Office said that aside from the 2,600 policemen, there will be 3,197 “force multipliers,” including barangay watchmen volunteers will also be deployed to ensure the safety of the public.
President Benigno Aquino III had a meeting with city mayors to discuss their security preparations.
Palace officials said Aquino will visit transport hubs today to check on the terminals.
Police Public Assistance Desks (PADs) will be at the entrance of the cemeteries to guide the public while barangay volunteers will assist the police on traffic rerouting, according to Chief Superintendent Dennis Peña, deputy director for operations of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
Peña continues to remind the public not to bring liquor, bladed weapons, loud speakers and playing cards inside the cemeteries for it would be confiscated at the entrance of the cemetery.
There are 84 cemeteries and 10 columbariums in the metropolis.
