Congress should no longer continue with its probe on the Mamasapano encounter.
This was the reaction of Cagayan De Oro Cong. Rufus Rodriguez after the PNP-Board of Inquiry released its results on the said encounter wherein 44 members of the PNP-SAF were killed.
Rodriguez, the chairman of the House Ad Hoc Committee on the Bangsamoro, is satisfied with the result of the investigation of the BOI.
According to Rodriguez, the investigation of the House Committee on Public Order and Safety and House Committee on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity will no longer serve anything as there’s nothing new that Congress will be able to provide because they can’t force President Benigno Aquino III to attend their hearings.
Congress has yet to decide on whether or not they will continue with their investigation on the Mamasapano encounter.
After the BOI report, the Senate will also be releasing its committee report while the Department of Justice is scheduled to release its own on April 2.
