Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. immediately quashed Congressman Neri Colomenares a whopping 145 Billion peso worth of Pork Barrel fund continues to exist in the 2016 national budget.
Based on Colmenares’ statement, 97.4 Billion peso comes from the Special Purposed Fund and the 50 Billion pesos was spread out to different government agencies.
According to Coloma, the Aquino administration is not capable of reviving the pork barrel funds because this has been declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court already.
Coloma added that President Benigno Aquino III continues to believe in the transparency and accountable governance, especially when allocating funds for different government projects.
“The Aquino administration is firmly committed to open, transparent and accountable governance, especially in terms of judicious allocation and proper disbursement of public funds.”
In line with this, Budget Secretary Florencio Abad fired back at Atty. Bonifacio Alentajan after the latter filed a motion to implead to include the DBM Secretary’s name in the list of personalities charged with Plunder in connection with the PDAF scam.
Abad implied that Atty. Alentajan is stupid after the Cabinet Secretary advised the latter to go back to law school because he seems to be unaware of what he was saying.
Meanwhile, in the issue regarding the supposed criminal case filed against him, Abad said that they need to present a complaint at the Office of the Ombudsman before someone can file a motion to implead against him.
“Atty. Alentajan should go back to law school. In criminal cases, you just don’t file a motion to implead, you file a complaint before the Ombudsman first,” added Abad. (with DZRH Florante Rosales)
