Thai volleyball coach Anurson ‘Tai’ Bundit will still be calling the shots for the Ateneo De Manila University Lady Eagles this UAAP season 80.
This was confirmed by ADMU President Fr. Jett Villarin last November 6 thru his Facebook account.
According to Fr. Villarin, he spoke with Bundit, the Athletics Office of Ateneo, and the volleyball team of the Lady Eagles in separate meetings in order to discuss their concerns.
The school official said that the concerns of the team were legitimate and valid, and that the university, with assistance from the Athletics office, will address and resolve these issues.
Fr. Villarin further added that both Coach Bundit and the Lady Eagles share the desire to represent the school and to win the championship, and that they are aware of the needed adjustments and mutual accommodation required in order to prepare for their upcoming campaign.
The ADMU President further asked the public to refrain from making comments and that both the coach and the players are affected when their characters are being questioned due to speculation.
Last October 30, Fr. Villarin announced that he will be meeting with Coach Bundit and the athletic officials of Ateneo due to reports that the Thai coach will be removed from the university’s volleyball team in response to complaints from most of the female players.
