The Church People-Workers Solidarity seeks for the government to finally put an end to contractualization.

According to the church-labor group, the government’s lack of action has become the reason why employees are getting abused in their workplace.

Also, the group insisted that workers continue to be burdened because the labor-only contracting continues to exist.

Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo said that the current situation of the labor force is contrary to what the Church’s belief regarding social justice.

Pabillo is asking the government to end contractualization and provide security of tenure to all employees.

Prior to this, President Rodrigo Duterte already signed Executive Order 51, prohibiting illegal contracting and subcontracting.

However, some labor groups claim that ENDO continues to exist even with the existence of the President’s EO.
