CHR sets to release own Mamasapano report

The Commission on Human Rights will also be issuing its own report on the Mamasapano encounter in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

The CHR is planning to release its independent investigation of the failed Oplan Exodus on the first week of April.

According to CHR Chairperson Etta Rosales, its report will not only indicate what went wrong but also how they can correct the human rights’ violations they committed.

The CHR has yet to receive a statement from the MILF and former SAF Commander Getulio Napenas Jr., Rosales made sure that their result of their investigation will not bend for anyone.

Meanwhile, President Benigno Aquino III shouldn’t be blamed for the Mamasapano incident.

Justice Secretary Leila De Lima came to PNOY’s rescue after the President’s name has been dragged in both the Board of Inquiry’s report and the Senate.

According to De Lima, we shouldn’t judge President Aquino based on the BOI and Senate reports because both investigating bodies weren’t given the chance to question PNOY.

De Lima said that the President is responsible and that his priority is always the interest of the country.

The Justice Secretary further added that only President Aquino knows if he in fact had any shortcomings from the failed Oplan Exodus of the PNP-SAF, therefore it’s his decision if he will apologize or not.   (with DZRH Val Gonzales, Judie Anne Abejero, Boy Gonzales)
