Malacanang is glad with the report by the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) that there are no violations in Mindanao after almost a month since Martial law was declared in the region.

Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella, said the report is a proof that Martial Law has no other purpose but to abolish the terrorism threat when Maute Group assaulted Marawi City in Lanao Del Sur.

Abella added that since CHR declared ‘Zero Human Rights Abuses’, the public has nothing to worry regarding the Martial Law declaration in Mindanao.

It can be recalled that hours after the attack in mentioned city, the President was forced to declared Martial Law in the region while he was on his trip in Russia and even cut short the said state visit and returned to the country.

At least 300 lives have already lost since Marawi Siege flared in May 23, 2017.
