Philippine National Police

The Philippine National Police (PNP) confirmed that administrative and criminal charges have been filed against PLtCol Jigger Noceda over allegations that he sexually assaulted detained former Ozamiz City vice mayor Nova Princess Parojinog.

PCol Ysmael Yu, spokesperson of PNP, said on Wednesday, October 14, that the Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) of the national police force filed the criminal charges at the Quezon City Office of the City Prosecutor.

Due to the allegations, Noceda was relieved from his position as chief of the PNP Custodial Service Unit, and was placed under restrictive custody of the PNP Headquarters Support Service.

Parojinog has been detained at the PNP Custodial Service Unit since July 2017 after police raided her family’s residence, which led to the death of her father, then Ozamiz City mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, and at least 14 others.

The former vice-mayor is facing charges for illegal possession of firearms and drugs.
