The Boston Celtics put an end to the title defense run of the Toronto Raptors.
Jayson Tatum registered 29 points and 12 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown added 21 points for the Celtics to seize a 92-87 victory against the Raptors in game seven of the NBA Eastern Conference semifinals.
Boston had a good start in the game after a three-point basket by Smart cupped off a 13-point scoring run that put the Celtics up 19-7 in the first quarter.
However, Toronto managed to overtake Boston, 21-22, in the same period following a 10-point run that culminated with back-to-back triples from Ibaka and Thomas.
The Celtics took the lead for good after Walker scored a basket, and Tatum buried a triple to put Boston up 72-68 in the waning seconds of the third quarter.
The Raptors managed to close the gap, 89-87, with 1:21 left in the game but Celtics refused to let go of the lead.
