Thai actor Bright Vachirawit and his management GMMTV (GMM grammy) through their legal counsel on Wednesday, filed defamation lawsuit against 20 netizens.

According to Vachirawit’s lawyer, they were given the go-signal from their client including his management to file defamation lawsuits (not cybercrime act) against those who continuously spread lies, derogatory remarks and even threaten the safety of Vachirawit and his family.

Paisit Shakaranon, authorized lawyer of the Thai actor said that they brought evidences, from issues on drug use, bullying among others that these accused have been spreading in different social media and chat groups.

The lawyer insisted that these evidences were both from the first complaint that they filed in early June to some new ones.  He added that this isn’t a civil case but a criminal case because both Bright and GMMTV are not interested in monetary compensation.  They want these 20 offenders to be responsible for their actions, and that these form of abuse from fans to their idols will not be tolerated anymore.

When interviewed by the local press, the lawyer said that these issues are causing a lot of stress to the young actor.  Actors are prone to receiving constructive criticism but when the issue goes overboard, and or create false accusations, the fans should know their limits; they should know their boundaries.

The police are now preparing the necessary documents in order to bring the offenders for questioning.  Shakaranon said that now that they have submitted their complaints, they will follow due process on the said matter.

Just recently, Bright and his on-screen partner Win Metawin won the Best Couple award in this year’s Line TH People’s Choice Awards.  The two have been constantly in the spotlight after their highly successful run of the special-five episode of Still2gether; their follow-up on the worldwide hit “2gether: The series.”

However, both Bright and Win received mixed reactions from their fans after GMMTV announced that their next project will be the Thai version of Meteor Garden.  They were introduced as part of Thailand’s F4 together with two newbie actors.

Thailand’s version of the popular manga-based series is expected to air in 2021.
