A barangay in Caloocan City has been placed under total lockdown on Wednesday, July 15 following the spike of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the area.
In a Facebook post, Mayor Oscar Malapitan announced that Barangay 38 was placed under total lockdown last Tuesday, July 14 until Monday, July 20 after the area reported 42 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Contact tracing and mass testing will be done to prevent the spread of the infection within the barangay, Malapitan said.
Malapitan vowed to distribute food packs to the affected families.
Earlier, the mayor also placed Barangay 93 under lockdown fromJuly 12 until July 18 due to the increase in COVID-19 cases.
