Tourists are starting to arrive as they spend their Holy Week in Boracay. The local administration expects at least 50,000 tourists this Lenten season.
Because of the expected crowd, the Philippine National Police already deployed 188 police officers in the island and an additional of 50 from the regional office IV.
The local government of Malay, Aklan is reminding everyone of the liquor ban as they give way to the observance of the Holy Week.
The liquor ban will take effect starting Maundy Thursday up to 5am of Good Friday.
Boracay is the main destination both of local and foreign tourists during Holy week.
