Amid the controversy surrounding his family, Vice President Jejomar Binay continues to enjoy the top spot in most surveys in the country.
However, with just a narrow margin, Senator Grace Poe is closing in on him at the second spot.
Based on the SWS survey from March 20-23, Binay got 36 percent, lower by a point from his previous 37 percent in December of last year.
Poe, on the other hand, has made a big leap from her previous 21 percent during the December survey to her latest 31 percent, a whopping 10 percent jump.
Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte came in third with 15 percent tying up with DILG Secretary Mar Roxas.
Poe and Duterte have yet to declare their plans for the 2016 Presidential elections.
The SWS asked its respondents to provide three names that they think are capable of replacing President Benigno Aquino, and Binay, Poe and Duterte’s names were the top three favorites.
Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago came in at 5th place while Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada with 11 percent placed at 6th spot.
