Fans trooped in front of the Aliw Theater on Thursday in anticipation of their favorite artists’ performance in what could be the biggest “Pasakalye” in the history of the Aliwan Festival.
Kicking off the three-day celebration, Pasakalye brought in the likes of Philippine Go Girls, “It” rapper Shanti Dope, crowd favorite Mocha Babes, teen heartthrob Darren Espanto and hip-hop group Ex Battalion of the sweeper hit “Hayaan mo sila.”
Fans are thankful that they got to see their idols perform live, for free. “Masaya po kasi po yung mga ibang kabataan gaya naming nakikita yung mga idol nila dahil po sa Aliwan,” said Kurt Paule, a fan of 16 year old Shanti Dope.
A die-hard fan of Espanto meanwhile shrieked upon seeing the young boy up front. “Sobrang saya dahil sa Pasay po sya dinala ng Aliwan Festival kaya super thankful po ako, at napakagandang opportunity po nun kay Darren kasi po para mas lalong sumikat po sya,” quipped Maria Isabel Lising.
But it was the group of Ex Battalion who really brought the house down. Fans were singing along their hit song “Hayaan mo sila.”
However, there’s more to come as tonight will be all about the celebration of the Filipino beauty as 20 young women aspire to become the 2018 Aliwan Fiesta Festival Queen.
