House Defense Committee Chairman Rodolfo Biazon worries regarding China’s alleged plan to seize Pag-asa Island which is part of the disputed West Philippine Sea.
This plan is prior to China’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) which was established last year and the new Fishing Laws of the West Philippine Sea.
According to Biazon, the Philippines must seek help with the International Community to verify the information. If reports are true, it simply shows that China is challenging the United Nations on its existing International Laws.
The Philippines must file a protest at the UN against China once the alleged plan is confirmed.
Biazon also stated that the Philippine should invoke its treaties, including the Mutual Defense Treaty with the United States that allows the said country to extend help to the Philippines once foreign forces attack the country.
