Baguio City Congressman Mark Go defended his proposal of nationwide four-day work week.

Employers reacted against the proposed compressed work week and insist that it will affect their companies’ operations.

Cong. Go explained that companies implementing the said system will lessen the expenses of their operations.

“Kung sila ay nagtratabaho ngayon ng six days, pwede silang maging five day or four days. Ang mangyayari dito yung oras everyday, kung four days or five days, tataas yung number of hours na magtratrabaho sila. Kung 48 hours, yung four days na lang magiging 12 hours per day, but they work for four days at meron silang tatlong araw na bakasyon.” Cong. Go said during an exclusive interview with DZRH.

The lawmaker also believes that the proposal will resolve the heavy traffic in Metro Manila and other provinces.

Go further said that it will give employees the chance to spend more time with their families.

“At the same time, yung mga employees natin meron silang opportunidad na ma-focus yung atensyon nila sa pamilya nila. Yung tinatawag natin na work-life balance. So ito yung intensyon ng bill natin. Ito ay approved na sa committee level.” Go explained the proposed 4-day week.
