Veteran broadcaster Deo Macalma has been named as the new station manager of the AM radio station DZRH, the flagship station of the Manila Broadcasting company (MBC).
The known radio host will be replacing Atty. Rudolph ‘Rejie’ Jularbal, who will be in-charge of all AM operations of MBC all over the country including its digital platforms, as announced by the company’s president Ruperto ‘Jun’ Nicdao on Thursday.
Following his promotion, Macalma, who was surprised by the announcement, appealed for harmony, unity, and support from the DZRH team.
Macalma started from humbled beginnings. His career with DZRH started in the early 1980s, as a newswriter. He then became a managing editor, served as co-host of the late Joe Taruc and was hailed as Assistant Managing Editor of DZRH.
Macalma, the current host of “Pangunahing Balita”, “Isyu” and “Breaktime” was named “Best Public Affairs Host” in the 2017 KBP Golden Dove Awards.
