Outgoing Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque surprised everyone on Sunday night when he appeared as one of Vice Ganda’s guest in “Gandang Gabi Vice.”
Roque was candid when asked about his role in the Palace and how he dealt with every controversy President Rodrigo Duterte was involved in.
When asked about the President’s “kissing scene” with a female OFW during his visit in South Korea, Roque said that, personally, he really thought that it was inappropriate for the President to commit such act and if given the chance, he would’ve grabbed him and asked him and had him stay in a corner.
Roque said that he doesn’t agree with the President’s decisions all the time, but he needs to do his job as his spokesman.
Roque, who was “kicked out” from his post, replaced by Chief Legal Counsel to the President Salvador Panelo said that his job usually starts from 5:30am and ends around after midnight. Roque insisted that he has to be with the President everytime he attends a meeting, or deliver a speech. Roque said that with the President’s way of communicating with people, he has to be aware on whether or not he is serious or just joking with every word he utters.
Vice Ganda made Roque read the “mean tweets” netizens send him and the latter was “game” enough to just laugh them off.
In the end, when probed on whether or not he will be running for a seat in government, he said that he really wants to but he also needs to consult President Duterte. The President already said that he shouldn’t run because he will not win, and Roque said that he will consider it, very seriously.
On Monday, contrary to what has been circulating that he is interested in running for a Senatorial seat, Roque confirmed that he will be filing his Certificate of Candidacy as Luntiang Pilipinas partylist Representative.
