Archers win UAAP Senior Men’s Basketball championship


The De La Salle University Green Archers took home the UAAP trophy after winning game 2 of their Best of 3 finals of the UAAP Men’s Basketball finals.

The green archers beat their long-time rivals, the Ateneo Blue Eagles.

The game held at the Araneta Coliseum, the archers were leading as much as 14 points.

The Blue Eagles tried to make a run in the last 10 seconds of the game, but the outside shot of Ateneo guard Antonio Asistio was short.

The game ended with a score 79-72, sealing the Archers’ win.

Finals MVP went to graduating player Jeron Teng.  Teng contributed 28 points in the game.

This is also the first finals win for DLSU coach Aldin Ayo.

Ayo was the coach the Colegio De San Juan De Letran’s Letran Knights, who incidentally bagged the championship crown in the NCAA 91 Men’s Basketball.
