President Benigno Aquino III accepted the resignation of Presidential Communications Secretary Ricky Carandang on Tuesday, Malacañang confirmed Thursday.
Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda revealed this during a press briefing that the President accepted the resignation of Carandang effective until December 31.
However, Malacañang did not divulge on the details of Carandang’s resignation.
“Secretary Carandang thanked the President for the chance to serve the administration and the country. The president also thanked him for his service to the country,” Lacierda said.
Undersecretary Manuel Quezon III will take over the helm of the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office (PCDSPO) because of him being the most senior official.
