Meguyaya Festival wins Tugtog ng Aliwan plum; Reyna from Antipolo shines brightest amid tumble


A stumble does not prevent the queen from Antipolo in winning this year’s 2017 Reyna ng Aliwam Festival Costume attire.

Patricia Kate Gonzales, representing the Maytime festival of Antipolo, won the best Festival Costume of the Reyna ng Aliwan pageant on Thursday, the first day of the Aliwan Festival. Patricia surprised the audience with her dress that pops up to show the hat designs peppered with mango and suman.

Marla Alforque, representing the Sinulog festival of Cebu, grabbed the second place for best Festival Costume, while Maria Vivien Fabella, representing the Boling-Boling festival of Catanauan Quezon, got the third place.


Meanwhile, the skilled performers representing the Meguyaya festival of Upi, Maguindanao won the Tugtog ng Aliwan 2017. The representatives of the Inaul Festival of Datu Piang, Maguindanao, and Iloilo Dinagyang Festival grabbed the second and third place of the competition respectively.
