The local government unit of Angeles City, Pampanga has launched StaySafe.ph, a digital contact tracing application, on Monday, August 3, as part of its efforts to stop the spread of the 2019 Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
“Isa sa mga pinakaimportanteng paraan para hindi na lalong lumaganap ang COVID-19 ay ang pagkaroon ng epektibong contact tracing system,” Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said in a statement.
Through the digital application, Lazatin said that residents can report the health conditions of the people around them without disclosing their identities or any sensitive information.
The mayor said that StaySafe.ph will also provide residents with information on what to do when a person starts to experience symptoms related to the disease.
As of Monday, Angeles City already registered 88 confirmed CoVid19 cases.
Out of the said number, 46 are active cases, 37 have recovered, and five have passed away due to the respiratory illness.
