Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar confirmed that President Rodrigo Duterte will attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit to be held in Peru next week.
Andanar said, the president’s trip will push through in the mentioned nation except for some unexpected changes in his part.
The PCOO Secretary added Pres. Duterte is set to meet with different heads of states that APECorganizers and the Peru government had planned for.
The PCOO Secretary hopes that this trip of the President pushes through and that no more pressing matters will come up other than APEC.
Prior to this, during the President’s arrival speech in Davao City for his two-day-state visit in Malaysia, President Duterte announced that he is thinking whether or not to attend the summit.
The President is thinking of the long flight it will take for him reach Peru, wherein he has to make a stopover in New Zealand.
The APEC Summit will be hosted by Lima, Peru this November 19-20, 2016.
