Allen Durham leads Meralco onfirst win in PBA Governor’s Cup finals

Meralco Bolts Allen Durham proved that he is deserving of wining the Best Import of the PBA Governor’s Cup for two straight seasons.

The 6’6 American import gave 38 points, 20 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 4 assists in order for Meralco to defeat Barangay Ginebra with a score of 94-81 in the Game-3 of the best-of-seven Finals Series of the PBA Governor’s Cup.

During the game in Araneta Coliseum last October 18, the Bolts suffered an early setback when Ranidel De Ocampo was removed from court due to an injury in his right calf.

However, Rey Hugnatan stepped up for Meralco and contributed 22 points in order to assist the Bolts in grabbing their first victory in the Finals.

Meralco and Ginebra had a close fight with both teams tied at 77-77 in the last half of the fourth quarter before the Bolts went into a 9-0 in order to grab the lead.

Justin Brownlee led the offensive for Ginebra by scoring 15 points, while L.A Tenorio and Japeth Aguilar also provided assistance by contrbuting 14 points each for the defending champions.

Due to this victory, Meralco was able to close the lead of Ginebra who already has two wins in their best of seven finals series.
