Alab Pilipinas has won its third game in the seventh season of the ASEAN Basketball League after beating Singapore Slingers, 89-80, in overtime.
During the game in Singapore, imports Renaldo Balkman, gave 26 points, and Justin Brownlee, shot 17 points, to continue the winning streak of the Philippine team.
The Slingers, meanwhile, were led by former Blackwater Elite import and two-time ABL World Import Most Valuable Player Chris Charles, who contributed 22 points.
Filipino – Canadian basketball player Aj Mandani, playing for the Singaporean team, forced the game to overtime after hitting a three-pointer during the last 12 seconds of the 4th quarter, which ended in 78-78.
However, the Philippine team secured victory after limiting Slingers to only two points during the extra period.
Currently, Alab has a 3-3 win-loss record, and seeks to grab their fourth win as they face the Slingers again on January 10 in the San Juan Arena, Philippines.
