
The Department of National Defense and the Armed Forces of the Philippines express their support to the Bangsamoro Basic Law amid what happened in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.
During the continuation of the BBL issue in Congress, Defense Secretary Volataire Gazmin insisted that we need to unite in order to achieve peace in Mindanao.
According to Gazmin, the war in Mindanao spans for four decades already and it has affected the security and stability of the said region and the lives of many Filipinos.
Meanwhile, AFP Chief of Staff Gregorio Catapang Jr. said that the AFP is one with the government is making sure that Mindanao will be given long-term peace and prosperity.
Aside from Gazmin and Catapang, Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, PNP-OIC Leonardo Espina, PNP-CIDG Dir. Benjamin Magalong, and Presidential Adviser on the peace process Teresita Deles.
However, Roxas wasn’t able to attend the said hearing. (with DZRH Leth Narciso-Abinales)
