The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) over the weekend said they are mobilizing their ranks to push for a decent salary increase for public school teachers and non-teahing personnel nationwide.
ACT said urged its members to upload pictures on social media so they can dramatize their call for President Benigno Aquino to enact the law for the public school teachers’ salary increase in 2016.
“Upload your pictures on Facebook, share to ACT-National Capital Region (NCR) Union’s timeline and to your co-teachers’ timeline, or tag us on your pictures,” ACT said in its facebook acount.
ACT said in its Facebook message to DZRH it is planning to hold a rally during President Aquino’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 27 to ensure the enactment of the law for the public school teachers’ salary increase in 2016.
The group also said they are doing a different kind of mobilization such as wearing of black arm bands and red shirt saying “salary increase during the SONA.”
ACT also clarified they did not issue a statement expressing gratitude to any government official for the proposed P3.002 trillion budget for 2016. (Joel C. Atencio)
