The seven former congressmen, including Customs chief Ruffy Biazon, who are facing graft and malversation charges at the Office of the Ombudsman were able to pocket at least 78-percent of kickbacks from their Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) based on the case documents submitted by the National Bureau of Investigation to the Ombudsman.
The documents were also based on the affidavit of multi-billion pork barrel scam primary whistleblower Benhur Luy.
According to the documents submitted to the Ombudsman, through former Pampanga Rep. and now ERC Chairperson Zanaida Cruz-Ducut, Biazon, during his tenure as Muntinlupa congressman, was able to get away with P1.95 million commission from the scam.
The said amount is equivalent to 72-percent of the P2.7 million pork barrel funds that went directly to bogus non-government organizations of businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles in 2007.
The NBI filed the graft and malversation charges against the seven congressmen and 27 others last week.
Two days after the charges were filed, Biazon submitted a letter to President Aquino stating his irrevocable resignation. The resignation was eventually approved by the President.
Aquino said that Biazon only have a week to step down from the BOC.
