
Seven areas in Luzon, which bore the brunt of the howler of Typhoon Glenda (international name: Rammasun) have declared a state of calamity, a television report said.
Five Luzon provinces, a town and a city in Manila have been placed under state of calamity after trees were uprooted, electric posts were brought down, roofs of establishments shattered by Glenda’s powerful winds on Wednesday.
Areas under state of calamity were Bataan, Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Cavite. Muntinlupa City and Gumaca town, in Quezon.
A 60-day price freeze on basic consumer goods in the areas under state of calamity has been imposed by the Department of Trade and Industry.
