At least four cadets of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) have been charged with violation of the Anti-Hazing Law for their alleged involvement in the hazing incident against plebe John Desiderio.

According to police report, the case was filed before the provincial prosecutor in Imus City, Cavite on November 14. The cadets were identified as Cadet 3rd cadet Jovan Sernat, Cadet 2nd class Clarence Cabucos, Cadet 3rd class Aaron Dahryl Villanueva, and Cadet 3rd class Paul Birung.

PNPA had earlier placed the implicated cadets “under isolation” following the incident. If found guilty, the cadets will be dismissed from the prestigious police school.

On October 29, cadet 4th class John Desiderio was rushed to the hospital after he had experienced stomach pains due to alleged maltreatment by his upperclassmen.

The incident took place after the untimely death of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) plebe Darwin Dormitorio due to hazing last September.
