The Armed Forces of the Philippines confirmed that four foreigners were killed in a clash between the military, and the Maute Terror Group in Lanao Del Sur.
According to AFP Chief General Eduardo Año, three Indonesians and one Malaysian were killed during the heated clash in Sitio Pagalungan, Barangay Gacap, Piapago, Lanao Del Sur.
Año said that identities of the slain foreigners are still being investigated, but it is believed that the four were Jihadists, and were connected with the Islamic State (ISIS).
According to reports, 37 members of the Maute Terror Group in Lanao Del Sure were killed during the clash. 14 of the slain insurgents have already been identified.
