About 400 police sacked during term of PNP Chief Dela Rosa

About 400 policemen involved in various crimes were dismissed from service under the term of PDG Ronald Dela Rosa as chief of the Philippine National Police.

According to the PNP Directorate for Personnel and Records Management, the 398 police officers are part of the 1,614 personnel who are facing administrative charges and given disciplinary penalties during the last 28 months.

Among the sacked police officers, 151 of them tested positive for use of illegal drugs while 18 were involved in trade of prohibited substances.

Meanwhile, 10 of the dismissed police are facing charges for kidnapping, 22 are facing charges for murder, three are facing charges for rape, six are facing charges for homicide, two are facing charges for parricide, and three are facing charges for illegal arrest.

Also removed from service are 91 policemen who were absent without official leave (AWOL), 23 who were accused of robbery-extortion, one who was accused of graft, and 70 who were accused of grave misconduct.

The PNP are also investigating 14,515 administrative cases against its members.
