Strong to gale-force winds are expected in the next 24 hours over areas where TCWS No. 1 is in effect, as well as over the rest of the Visayas, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, and Mindoro Provinces, Marinduque, Romblon, and the northern portion of Palawan (including Calamian, Cuyo, and Kalayaan Islands), due to the combined effects of the surge of the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) and Auring.

PAGASA also warned that under the said conditions, scattered to widespread flooding, including flash floods, and rain-induced landslides are likely during heavy or prolonged rainfall especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to the hazards as identified in hazard maps.

The state weather bureau said Auring is expected to bring heavy to intense rains over Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands, and Eastern Samar this Saturday through Sunday noon.

Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains are expected over Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, and the rest of Caraga, while light to moderate with at times heavy rains are over Central Visayas, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, and the rest of Northern Mindanao and Eastern Visayas, it added.

Leyte, Southern Leyte, Cebu, Bohol, Surigao del Norte, and Dinagat Islands will experience moderate to heavy with at times intense rains from Sunday noon to Monday noon.

Meanwhile, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, the southern portion of Quezon, and the rest of Visayas and Caraga will have light to moderate with at times heavy rains.

As of 10 AM, the center of Auring was last seen at  595 km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It is moving eastward at 15 lm/h with a maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 90 km/h.
PAGASA said Auring will likely remain as a tropical storm until it makes landfall over Caraga. However, there is an increasing likelihood that the storm will weaken into a tropical depression before making landfall.
