A total of 195 police and non-uniformed personnel (NUP) Philippine National Police (PNP) tested positive of illegal substance during random drug testing in the said institution.
Police Chief Supt. Aurelio Trampe, Jr., Director of PNP Crime Laboratory, confirmed that out of the mentioned number, 188 are cops while seven are NUP.
Trampe said the number is from the 167, 552 PNP personnel who underwent drug test from 2016 until January 17, 2017.
According to the official, 100 percent of those who tested positive in illegal drugs are using Shabu.
Trampe added that the result is already submitted to PNP-IAS for summary dismissal proceedings.
Meanwhile, Police Supt. Irene Rigonan of Operation Management Division, PNP Crime Laboratory said that Region IV-A and NCRPO have the highest number of personnel who tested positive of illegal drugs.
While the cleanest police regional office is the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) with 100 percent negative result in the said test.
The highest police rank tested positive in illegal drugs is a police chief inspector.
